Certificate III in Landscape Construction, you’ll have the skills to work on a variety of landscape projects with confidence. You’ll gain hands-on experience in areas such as the construction of brick and stone structures, retaining walls, and landscape features, as well as plant establishment, soil profiles, costing, and scheduling.

Course Description

The qualification has a core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as specialist fields of brick and block work covering work in residential and commercial applications. Career SkillsTraining Program is flexible and focuses on matching your learning progress, with the on-the-job experience you gain week to week.

Depending on your location, Career Skills offers classroom-based or online learning programs. In either case, Career Skills Trainers are directly available to all trainees and apprentices – and their employers will be regularly advised of the apprentice’s course progress, engagement and attendance, with a full report issued each term.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Course Duration & Mode of Delivery

Career Skills offers this qualification by either RPL or by Training and assessment.

Enrolment is valid for two years.

Typically, RPL’s take 3 months but can be longer. Those undertaking a training and assessment program typically take 12 months to complete the course.

CREDIT CAN BE APPLIED FOR PAST EXPERIENCE

Both pathways make use of our Online Learning Management system as a source of documentation.

Both RPL and Training and Assessment require face to face interaction, with training and assessment requiring two days of face to face classroom attendance per week.

Participants must be working in the industry and have the support of their employers.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

Recognition is available to all learners of the RTO. An application for Recognition can be made on the Application for Recognition Form.

Study Pathways

Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates may further their studies with either the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or the CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).

Employment Opportunities

This qualification has employability skills. Participants may find employment in construction roles in businesses and other industries requiring building and construction qualifications.

Entry Requirements

be aged 18 years or over

have the support of their supervisor and employer

hold a minimum of a Higher School Certificate (or equivalent)

able to commit to the course duration and time commitment

Have already attained a “Whitecard”

Satisfactorily completed our Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment

Have a completed workplace support agreement, which confirms the resources required for training and assessment will be made available to the student.

 

Additional Requirements

Students will need to have an internet-capable laptop.

RPL Students will need this to access and potentially submit their RPL evidence

Training and Assessment Students will need this to access the learning and assessment material both in class and at home.
