Career Skills Australia is committed to providing clear, fair, and transparent fee protection arrangements for all students.
This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which tuition fees, administration fees, and other charges may be refunded, partially refunded, transferred, or retained.
The policy applies to all students enrolled in RPL, Training & Assessment, workplace-based training, and online learning programs.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all students clearly understand:
- when a refund may be available
- how refund requests are assessed
- refund processing timelines
- cancellation and withdrawal conditions
- transfer options to another course or intake
This policy supports fair learner treatment and compliance obligations.
Refund Before Course Commencement
Students who withdraw before the official commencement date may be eligible for a refund.
Eligible Refund
Refunds may include:
- tuition fees paid in advance
- unused learning resource fees
- unallocated training fees
Administration Fee
A reasonable administration fee may be deducted to cover:
- enrolment processing
- student file setup
- LLN review
- orientation preparation
- payment processing charges
Withdrawal After Course Commencement
If a student withdraws after training has commenced, a partial refund may apply depending on:
- amount of training already delivered
- units commenced
- trainer time allocated
- resources already issued
- online LMS access activated
- assessment activities completed
- third-party costs incurred
Each case is assessed individually and fairly.
Course Cancellation by Career Skills Australia
If Career Skills Australia cancels, postpones, or is unable to deliver a course, students will be offered:
Option 1: Full Refund
A full refund of all unused prepaid fees
Option 2: Transfer
Transfer to:
- another suitable intake
- equivalent qualification
- future commencement date
- alternate delivery mode
The student may choose their preferred option.
Transfers Instead of Refund
Where suitable, students may request to transfer to:
- another intake
- different delivery schedule
- another qualification
- alternate campus / location
- RPL pathway
Transfers may reduce or remove refund loss.
Non-Refundable Items
The following items may be non-refundable where already incurred:
- administration fees
- issued textbooks or learning resources
- LMS setup fees
- third-party licensing fees
- government charges
- credit card processing fees
- completed assessment review services
These will always be disclosed transparently.
How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted in writing.
Include the Following
- full student name
- course name
- date of withdrawal
- reason for refund request
- supporting documents (if applicable)
- bank details for refund transfer

Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days from the date of approval.
Students will receive written confirmation of:
- refund amount
- deductions applied
- payment date
- transfer details
Special Circumstances
Refund requests relating to exceptional circumstances may receive special consideration, including:
- serious illness
- injury
- employer changes
- workplace closure
- compassionate grounds
- visa issues (if applicable)
- unexpected relocation
Supporting evidence may be requested.
Refund Disputes
If a student is dissatisfied with a refund decision, they may access the Complaints & Appeals process.
This ensures every decision can be independently reviewed.
